What is TrekAI?
TrekAI is a learning tool, powered by an Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) Large Language Model (“LLM”), designed to complement classroom learning. It allows students to harness technology safely within a trusted platform built by people with a Biblical worldview. It is designed to enhance student success by guiding learning. Unlike other AI LLM tools, TrekAI automatically employs the Socratic method by posing insightful questions which encourages dialogue and fosters critical thinking rather than providing direct answers. TrekAI acts as a coach or tutor, it empowers students to engage with concepts and arrive at solutions independently.
Who is it for?
Students at all stages of learning have been introduced to rapid expansion of AI. Students are already using AI tools to learn, but many of the systems available to them lack the guidance, transparency, and Christian foundations needed to align with a family’s values. TrekAI offers virtual coaching, providing individualized feedback that adapts to each student’s learning level, subject, and coursework. This innovation ensures that students receive support beyond the classroom without replacing the vital role of teachers.
To help families navigate AI and to support our students lifelong learning, the Center for Lifelong Learning will offer hands-on workshops led by Dr. Terry Huttenlock, a Professor Emeritus at Wheaton College, seasoned educator and technology expert. These in-person sessions provide students with best practices for using AI LLM platforms to enhance learning. This personal engagement helps to ensure that the platform is integrated smoothly into the learning process and used to its fullest potential. Workshops are open to all families!
